I'm not sure, but I thought I'd give it a try, I'd been getting invites for quite a while and ignored them.

It looks like an easy way to keep track of contacts. I've already tracked down a few friends I'd lost touch with.

recruiters and headhunters love it. eventually you'll get people you don't know (usually recruiters) wanting to link with you.

I've had former coworkers track me down with in, referred them for jobs with my current employer, and gotten a referral bonus from it though, so I'm happy.

Sorry if I am resurrecting an old thread, but I have a question/opinion request about the USMS Linked In group. I get emails about ongoing discussions and so I read one today and wondered, what's the level of discussion typically?

For example, I see spam in there, guys offering massages, and other responses to questions I would not expect nor see in this forum. I am wondering if it is worth following.

I like that group. You're right, it has problems with spam, but I hadn't noticed any for awhile before I saw the massage guy today.

I am on LinkedIn. Compared to the forums, there's very little activity. This is a better place to get a discussion going.
