The Team: The Atlanta Rainbow Trout Aquatics Club is a gay-friendly adult club that includes swim (USMS), water polo (USWP), diving and triathlon teams (USAT). Each of the teams practices in Georgia Tech’s Campus Recreation Center, site of the 1996 Olympics.

Job Description. The ART swim team is seeking a dynamic, experienced swim coach to supervise, manage and facilitate weekly practices (2 – 3 per week) and occasional swim meets.

Duties and Responsibilities. The proposed coach will have the following duties and responsibilities:
· Work with the swim director to develop short- and long-term plans that target pre-specified competitions;
· Plan and execute workouts for the team;
· Help adult swimmers of all levels to improve their swimming skills and assist them in meeting their personal goals;
· Encourage participation and assist in building team unity;

· Tuesdays, 8 – 9:30pm (7:30 – 9pm during Tech “summer hours”)
· Thursdays, 8 – 9:30pm (7:30 – 9pm during Tech “summer hours”)
· Sundays, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
· Un-coached workouts are also held on Friday evenings 7:30 – 9pm

· Prior coaching experience;
· A sense of humor, patience and desire to lead a diverse group of adults;
· Ability to create and maintain a season plan targeted toward pre-defined competitions for swimmers of varied levels of swimming ability;
· Technical knowledge to lead regularly scheduled stroke clinics for the team (in lieu of normal practice);
· Interest in a hands-on coaching format;
· Ability to work with adult swimmers of all abilities; from recreational/fitness to competitive.
