I need some tips or a verbal breakdown of how to do this back to breast turn - my current way is terribly slow (kind of a very weak bucket turn) and I'd like to start working on this... seems as though on this kind of turn you flip upside down a bit???

I've been working quite extensively on the back to breast turn, and it just so happens that I've figured out a way to understand it, and that seems to have really helped my IM. (finally)
Here is an effective analysis:

Also, I personally think this mini-routine has been very effective to help improve the turns... Check it out.

Awesome! That is perfect! I think practicing it without the wall is brilliant... especially since you won't have the fear of actually hitting the wall when you make a mistake!

Thank you!!!

PS: Is there more of a chance of getting DQ'd if you screw it up during a race?

Thank you, I'm happy that you've found benefit from the back to breast advice.
Just be persistent in training, and you'll be fine under race conditions.
