I work a rotational work schedule and really miss the pool time when I am out. Can someone suggest a very portable device for the arms that would keep me flexible and maybe even conditioned a little bit. Something that comes to mind and this will signal my age is a device called the "exer-genie" which you could adjust the tension.

Surgical tubing / Stretch cords is a very portable, versatile and effective piece of strength gaining equipment. You can Google (stretch-cord exercises) and find tons of great exercises. Our team uses them every day. Good luck, Coach T.

I trained for the Marathon swims for seven months just using home made pulleys made from clothes line pulleys, window sash weights and window sash ropes. The closet pool was 300 miles away. The pulleys were attache to the ceiling and it was a direct pull down I pull.

I set them up in the closet, I was sure glad to come out of the closet.
