Here is a link with Michael having fun in Vegas with a stripper or random party girl. That is nice that he is letting loose for a change.

For a change? From what I've heard and witnessed...he was quite the let loose boy up there in Michigan as well.

Although, all the girls in my graduate program here in Baltimore are anxiously awaiting his homecoming haha.

Boys will be boys no matter how old they are. When I went to France in 1964 I went to the Bunny Club.

There is a saying you can look but don't touch. I looked but did not touch. It looked to me that he looked and touched.

George, don't be so wet!

MAny healthy young guys want to see scantily (or less) dressed girls (or guys if that's their orientation)...

Was he busted for solicitation? It's just a beer and hooters...most guys see it for the titilation-fun that it is, only a few think there is any "relationship" going on.

Nothing wrong with what he is doing, but from the female point of view it kind of kills his lure. Part of the attraction has been his seeming innocence, shyness, and awkwardness. Pics like these kill the attraction. That's one reason I wish I had not seen them. :(

I hope he's partying his brains out and getting laid after killing himself for years. But, it's kinda weird logging on to the swimming related discussion board and seeing constant references/threads to who he's dating, who he's hooking up with and his fun with random strippers. Let's just start a People Magazine for Swimmers thread in the NSR section.

I will always post the way I feel and do not listen to what some people call logic when it is not logical. Do you really think I am starting a controversy and believe he should do this stuff in public?

Now are you saying it is a good thing for him to do?

I did...and so did a very good friend of mine who went to school with him...on many more than one occasion.

based on that...I'm not surprised he's moving back to Baltimore at all.

I think Mike is a good guy--no different really in the way he acts or whatever than any other guy his age and I don't think anything less of him for going to the strip club or whatever...I'm just saying those of you who think he has only swam, ate and slept the past 4 years are mistaken. As it would be...the Olympics are only 1 time every 4 years....I don't think any olympic medal or fame and glory is worth not experiencing college and your 20's the way you want to....and I think he probably realizes that too.

He is actually at Club Moon (which is in the Palms casino and I believe in the Playboy Tower.) I am a former entertainment manager from Las Vegas and the girl in both pics is the same girl. She used to work for me. Great girl! She does not like to be touched, so I am sure that did not go over well! That is probably the reason the security personal did not want photos taken. "Gold medalist touches and upsets gogo dancer."
Club Moon is actually not a strip club. It is a regular night club with girls dancing on pods and stages, dressed in booty shorts, black and white striped stockings, bikini-like tops. In fact, neither the Playboy Tower or the rest of the Palms Hotel Resort and Casino have a strip club anywhere within.
Give me just a second and I will upload another pic of Phelps at the Palm's Playboy tower. It is one taken with another former employee of mine. Here it is ;)

Seriously, what's the big deal?

All my guy friends have been to strip clubs, and that Michael Phelps is probably rich enough to own a dozen strip clubs.

He has done more than all of us combined for the sport of swimming. Does he need to live the life of a saint for the rest of his life just so that the public can continue to believe what they wish to believe, that he is that innocent boy who does nothing except swimming, swimming, and swimming?

Give the guy a break. He is 23 years old and 14-time Olympic champion. He deserves to enjoy his life now and he probably can get any girl he wants. Maybe that girl in the picture asked him to put his hand on her, maybe she didn't. Who cares? It has nothing to do with the rest of us. Why do people feel like they have a right to decide or judge how he should spend his time?

Phelps is a adult - already more wealthy than most of us - and likely to be more wealthy soon. I don't expect him to be an uptight moralist. I hope he manages to have a good time without damaging his value as a figurehead for age group swimming.

You do not need to read the Bible or be religious to understand that going to a strip club is bad for both your own well-being and the women who work there. Going to a strip club doesn't help one blow off steam, quite the opposite really. I would have no opinion on the matter, accept his mother is going on a speaking tour presumably to talk about what she did right in raising him. Well, other than the part about not respecting women...

PS: Does anyone else love it when George chimes in with his posts about how he did the same thing 40 years ago. Is there a good place to swim in Maui, I am buying a house there? George: "I swam against the entire Bangladesh Swim Federation in an all or nothing $2,500 100M freestyle in 1963 at the Ka'anapoli Rec Center..." Goerge, I really do like it when you post that stuff.

The Playboy Club is not a strip club, as has been pointed out. In fact, my wife and I visited the club when we went with her siblings and some other friends - it is a nightclub/casino with a playboy bunny theme at the Palms. As far as Phelps "grabbing the girl", there is no clear evidence that it was unwanted or unwarented touching. I am certain the girl was flirting with a celeb, and if something did happen - plenty of bouncers around to take care of it.

So why hasn't anything happened there? I'm convinced it is because of the security. Perhaps people are being watched more than they realize!! Anybody else have any ideas?

The only major terrorist concern in Las Vegas is at the Venetian Hotel Resort and Casino. I used to work for TAO there. The reason for the concern is that the owner of the Sands Corporation, which owns the Venetian, is Sheldon Adelson. Sheldon also happens to be one of the top 10 wealthiest people in the world and is Jewish. His wife is also from Israel. However, whenever there are exceptionally high numbers of tourists in Vegas for an event, Bellagio and others step up their security. At the Venetian, on any given day, you cannot enter the resort without stopping at a security checkpoint and there are bomb-sniffing dogs walked all over the property day and night. Oh, and Sheldon has the same Israeli bodyguard by his side day and night. Which all ties into swimming and Phelps because.....Phelps has gold medals and Adelson has gold leaf throughout the hotel of which has a 50m outdoor pool :) Oops, I forgot, Sheldon also finished the Palazzo Hotel Resort and Casino before I left Vegas in March. It is connected to the Venetian. It's supposed to have great rooftop pools too!

Wow, that would be great! People staying in the north side of the Venetian tower and the south side of the Palazzo tower could watch from their air conditioned rooms. The celebs and other money people could step out from TAO Beach and watch. Then there is plenty of room on the pool deck for bleachers. But don't quote me on the 50m. I just used the scale in the lower corner of the google maps image. The pool measures out to about 35m. It looks like the Vegas ad needs a math refresher course. :) But hey, who says P and Cavic can't do a race via multiples of 35 :)

I have noticed that a number of high end Resorts/hotels in Vegas and other places like to call their "large" pools "olympic sized" If they just mean to say larger than your average hole-in-the-ground hotel pool, than I could see this as a semi-accurate statement (at best).

I have never been to a hotel or resort that had any type of official lap pool - most are too shallow and overcrowded to get a swim in.
