What are events, seminars, clinics, etc. that you would like to see in the PV area?

The reason I am asking is that I intend to become involved with the PVLMSC board and would like to get some feedback from those in and around the PV area as to what they would like to see more of from USMS in the PV area.

I would love to see some clinics. I believe USMS has scholarships to help with the expenses. And maybe bring in some of the mentoring programs USMS has.

I'm with swimshark. Clinics! Not only clinics for swimmers, but clinics for (wanna-be) coaches, as well.

PS: I know my location seems outside the PV area, but PV is my "home" area and I will be returning there in a few months.

Mike,

Where you moving to? If you will be in the area on Oct 26th you should come out to the Patriot Sprint Classic.

One of the huge challenges in the PV zone is getting water time. This LSC has one of, if the not THE, the highest swimmer densities on a per pool basis between USA-S, High School, Club and Masters. And a lot of the pools are aging facilities with no replacements scheduled, at least in the Montgomery County area.

But I agree with you on clinics. I want to see more clinics for competition, fitness and open water swimmers. Plus clinics on coaching, team building, organizing events (open water, pool meets, etc.).

I'll be moving to the Alexandria/Arlington area, most probably. It won't be til next April, so I'll have to wait til the 2009 iteration of that race.

I swam at Chinquapin when I last lived there (04-05). I like that team, but if we get a house near a metro I'll be looking for a masters team close to a metro.

Cheers,
