As we head into convention, although written with more of a business-focus in mind, it might be helpful to peruse this site (http://www.wikihow.com/Play-********-Bingo-in-Boring-Meetings) for a guide to proper behavior in HOD meetings. :)

A few years back I had to have a filling replaced. This was not fun at all and I am dreading the next few years as additional fillings will probably need to be replaced.

The HOD is worse because:

1. It lasts for five hours (actually over five on Saturday)
2. You don't get numbed with Novacane beforehand

Add to that lack of sleep and general fatigue, it was painful.

I hope that next year there are more seminars. Those contain some great information that can be applied immediately at the local level. I think that would be a more effective use of time IMHO.

After it was all said and done, Convention is a great time to catch up with your counterparts and learn from them. Learning and applying knowledge is what will make for an effective Convention experience IMHO.

YMMV, see you in Chicago!
