I'm signed up for the UCLA SCM meet on the 18th of October, thinking about a meet in Santa Clarita on the 8th of November, plus there is a SCY meet in San Luis Obispo on the 22nd of November just up the street from my house. I'm hoping to hit the Long Beach meet as well.

UCLA - http://www.spma.net/meetforms/2008/2008_ucla_scm_info.pdf
Santa Clarita - http://www.spma.net/meetforms/2008/2008_scm_scm_info.pdf
SLO - http://www.spma.net/meetforms/2008/2008_slom_scy_info.pdf

I agree the Grunions are a great team! They hosted the Naples Island Open Water Swim which was excellent! They really have their act together and Long Beach is a nice place to spend a weekend.

Me me me!
Aren't you from Texas, too?
I love the AZ meets, especially when held at Mona P.

Small 1 1/2 day meet here in Dallas the week after (11/21-22). I would not recommend more than 3 events, and space them apart!

There's a bunch of people from my team doing it, as my team is hosting the meet. Are you looking for any specific info?

I doubt I'll swim it, but who knows. I haven't swam in a meet since my team hosted USMS SC Nationals, whenever that was. I usually swim 5-6x/week, but don't really focus on any specific events, and don't think I could be ready for a meet in a month.

Some nice swims from you this weekend, especially that 200 Breaststroke. Way to bring home that last 50. You're within shooting distance of the WR. I'd love to see you pull it off next year.

This meet looks interesting, think (S)heMan said she's going. Geek said, "If (S)he's there the trip'll would be totally worth it just to watch her swim."

There was a record set yesterday (200 back womens 30-34) at the DAM SCM meet in Dallas.

Nice pool, but very odd how every starting block I stood on did not sit perpendicular to the pool.

I went last year, but will not be able to go this time. Mizzou's pool is wonderful, and the MOVY gang ran the meet very well. I recommend it.

We'll be swimming a Mizzou this year. In fact, I'm taking the entries so I'll know if you decide to enter. The pool there is beautiful and fast - deep, clear water, perfect competition temperature, and good air quality.

Unfortunately, getting directly to Columbia by air isn't the easiest. It looks like Northwest goes there from Austin through Memphis, and on a turboprop plane from Memphis to Columbia. Otherwise, you'd fly into either Kansas City or St. Louis and have a 2 to 2.5 hour drive to Columbia.

Last year I think we had 60 entries for the meet, so events come pretty quickly. We're hoping for a little larger meet this year, but you never know during that time of year. We do try to space out the events so that we use the entire time allotted to us in the pool, so there may be several minutes worth of break between each event.
