Hi all. I just swam in a meet that ran from 8:00 to 3:20! This is the longest meet that I have been in to date. Is this long for your area ?

most of our 50 and 100 meets are 4-5hrs max, that's even with a 20-30 pause in the middle. our line up is can look like this

50 fr
100 br
50 fly
100 back
4x50 fr relay

pause

100 fr
50 br
100 fly
50 back
4x50 medley relay

and on occasion if there are not alot of people signed up for all the events, they will have a quick medal ceremony to all the winners between events. just to give those swimming back to back events a break.

Thanx. That idea of awards is a good one to give a rest to the swimmers.

Here in Colorado, our meets run very fast. Even our large State meet, with 300 plus swimmers is done in 4 to 5 hours. Our other meets, can be as short as 3 hours, which means if you swim a number of events you are just sitting behind the blocks, catching your breath and going again. More like a sprint workout.
