Hmm, I might swim the sprinter special at this meet. All 4 50s and maybe the 100 IM.

Betsy - 5 people from TAC are going? Or is there another team in the VB/Norfolk area. I asked Jim the other day and he didn't know of anyone who was definitely going.

I think I'm going to do the 100BR and 200BR at this one, as a tune-up. I've never done the 200, should be interesting / painful.

I have no desire to swim free at this one, because I've been doing all LCM and want to leave my SCY times as a surprise for later.

Dave Holland is going up with one other person from the NOVA workout group.

I am pretty sure at least a couple swimmers from the UR masters group are going.

It looks great but I won't be going b/c it is between two other meets (Sr Champs and Albatross) I'm swimming at.

The psych sheet is up:

I seeded myself at last year's time in the 100BR:

14 Durkin, Chris M34 Virginia Masters-VA 1:27.27

I know my technique has improved a lot since then. Hopefully I can beat last year's time.

I seeded myself at 3:00.00 on the 200, since I have never done it. I have no idea if that was a wise choice or not. What is the usual drop-off from 100 to 200 in breaststroke?

Even if you are very good shape, 3:00 is pretty ambitious if 1:27 is your best time. I would predict more along the lines of 3:05, unless you have improved since then.

It gives you something to shoot for!

How far is this place from D.C.?

I think about 40 miles.

I'm not going to the meet, but PLEASE NOTE (if you haven't already) that the meet start time has changed to 8:30am (I don't know why). It was originally scheduled to start at 9am, so plan accordingly.

And also for those who are calendar challenged such as myself, the meet is on SUNDAY. For some reason I thought it was on Saturday so it looks like I'll be leaving at about 10 as I have to be on deck at 11:30am to coach. Hopefully I'll get 2 of my events in.
