Oz, I think you mean the Park Ridge 1500 (remember, the meet is Long Course). I'll be there (coaching, not swimming)!

I will be there as well, though over the past few weeks I have done very little swimming. I'm kind of curious to see what heat I will be in.

Unfortunately this is scheduled on the same day as the Pleasant Springs open water swim. I opted for open water, as I am anxious to feel like summer has begun.

Hi Oz,
Iwas hoping to go but Imight me in Indianapolis that day as a Marine Surveyor watching the unloading and storag of some interesting and important Nautical Equipment .I stopped by the pool yesterday one of the fellows working there said that the water is a balmy 70F. Maybe If I miss it I can talk to Barry and see if iI can go there some morning and get an unoffical. time. right now I am swimming as IL Masters Ihope to change tha to Elgin some time later this year. I hope to do at least one OW this year. Although I have been swimming more off than on my last real OW was back in the 70s from Plum Beach, Brooklyn to Breezy Point Queens. Iworked on the ferry that also went that route. However I met some friends and had to swim back having missed the last ferry. I was against the out bound tide. Luckily, I had taken on some additional boyancey.
Best regards to all who go for the 1500..
Regards,

Hats off to Barry Dayton and his cheerful Park Ridge Penguins for hosting another great meet. The Park Ridge 1500 was well attended and well run. We appreciate the effort you put into not only running a smooth meet but also for going out of your way to accommodate everyone.:applaud:

I would agreed with our vistor from Michigan. The meet was well run and went smoothly particularly in light of the great turn out. Barry and the Penguins did a great job Everyone the was freindly & helpful It was a historic meet in a historic pool. They had the pool open to swim laps from 6 to 8AM. I went there a couple of mornings and found that it was a great help to shift from an indoor 25y pool to that great50m outdoor pool. It is a good intermediary step to the world of OW!
