She has an interesting response to her record time (quoted from the Washington Post article):

"Steffen gave credit to a new full-body swimsuit that the German swimmer was wearing. The controversial 'hydrofoil' suits are to be banned next year.
Steffen agreed with that decision, saying 'this material can destroy the sport of swimming.' "

Not to get the suit discussion going yet again. But I like the phrase "this material can destroy the sport of swimming."

In particular, I like the phrase "the sport of swimming" and her respect for it, implied, by being glad the suit will be banned.

Hmm. Though why she wore the suit, that's a question to ask her, I guess.
