No, this doesn't change what we're wearing in SCM/SCY meets this year and there's no new news on what will happen to Masters, but here's a possible glimpse of what's to come should we go lock, stock & barrel with FINA: http://www.fina.org/project/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2688&Itemid=107) (http://www.fina.org/project/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2688&Itemid=107%29:)

so am i reading this right that speedo didn't bother to submit the FSII, fastskin, or aquablade recordbreaker styles??? seriously?!?

hopefully that's just an oversight on whoever put the list together, but there's going to be a whole heck of a lot of age group girls (and some masters, if we go with this list ourselves) who are out of luck with their normal suits, cause they don't like kneeskins...

i thought the same thing at first. new models out. I believe it is made of the same material as the NON-Polyurethane portions of the original LZR.

Hmmm, I thought that was the same material as the FS-Pro. But I don't have one so I'm going from hearsay.

I can't remember where i read that at either so it could be wrong. the advertisement said the new LZR was 5% less drag than the fs-pro. not sure. like i said in another thread, I am sticking with my hot pink paper suit.

The LZR is different from the FS Pro by having extra compression at the hips(a girdle.) maybe these new suits have that.

It now includes a few suits that are OK for OW. there were 10 or 12. but I have yet to be able to find a site that sells those models yet. so if anyone finds a site with the OWS only suits please post it here. I think the water at Worlds will be just around the min temp for FINA OW races 18C, and legskins will work better for me than jammers since I don't use my legs much until the last 100m or so and don't want to cramp up ;)

June 17th a clarification to the suit rule for masters

It is clarified that swimsuits which fulfill the shape requirement set
forth in BL 8.3, respectively BL 8.4 (for Open Water Swimming) can be
accepted even if they do not bear a valid FINA approval label provided
they effectively and evidently fulfill the material requirements set forth
in the current FINA Requirements for Swimwear Approval. This is the
case for swimsuits made of traditional permeable textile (i.e. open
mesh material) material (such as cotton, Nylon, Lycra and the like)
with no application of surface treatment closing the open mesh
structure. In case of doubt in this respect and when notably such
doubt concerns a swimsuit used at the occasion of a World record,
an actual check of the swimsuit can be required from the competitor
or Certifying Official and the swimsuit is to be forwarded to the FINA
Office for submission to an actual control of all or parts of the
requirements.

But to me it doesn't seem to answer the question if the nearly fullbody suits allowed for OW races can have zippers ;)

Thanks. The clarification answers a question I've had.
