View Full Version : Good stroke video clips on YouTube

October 22nd, 2009, 04:29 PM
We have a couple of high school kids who are swimming with us to get in shape before the high school season starts. One has swum on a team before, one has not. Our coaches have been working with them on stroke technique, but I think they might find it helpful to watch some video clips.

I know that a lot of you have found good YouTube clips that show the basics of good stroke mechanics (streamlined pushoffs, flip turns, good basic freestyle technique).

I was wondering whether some of you could post links to those clips in this thread. What I will then do is give the URL of this thread to the high school swimmers. Then they can just go through this thread and view the various video clips.

Thank you!

There are some clips from the DVD The Three Styles of Freestyle on You Tube.....but it is worth buying the whole thing. The most entertaining DVD on swimming with some extraordinary swimmers demonstrating the different freestyle techniques used in freestyle. Remember, one technique does not fit all swimmers or all distances. Find the DVD on www.theraceclub.com.

Universal Sports posted these videos - they are long (like a half hour or so) instructional dvds featuring Olympic swimmers.
