I hope to, though I am not a USMS member. That seems to be manditory (looking at the registration form). I am however a licenced swimmer with another FINA federation. What are the possibilities? I arrive New Years day so will have major jet-lag.
Are there any other swims that week?

Yes, the one day USMS registration is for insurance/liability. I've never done this particular race before, but it should be fun. Though you might be jet-lagged, its only a one-mile swim and early in the morning (here) should be mid-afternoon for you. Just trying to help persuade you, though I was in Europe for two weeks and it took me about that long to re-adjust to the US time zone (though it took me about a day to get used to Europe time when I went there). So if you don't, I understand!
