Hello All:

I need help finding a document that has the job descriptions for the LMSC Board Positions.

Does anyone have a CURRENT or REVISED (to reflect the 2009 minimum standards) that they could share with me??

thanks

LMSC minimum standard should be attached to the convention meets.

If not here, try under the "minutes" in the administrative section or contact the USMS Secretary (CJ Rushman).

Might see what in the LMSC Handbook as to descriptions for LMSC "board" positions.

Anthony,

thanks but the link (as thorough as it is) doesn't list the duties & tasks for all the board member positions.

I've been searching all over to get a clear & concise directive with the new LMSC Minimum Standards that we are expected to implement. I'm kinda new to the USMS administration and am trying to get my head around everything. I am finding it difficult to sell positions & match skill sets with positions that I'm not exactly clear about with respect to duties & expectations.

Thanks,

The USMS Guide to Operations (LMSC Handbok) contains some job descriptions, but they are not all together or easily gleened.

This sounds like a good project someone!

Great segue, Rob. :)

Part of my new job with USMS will be to update and maintain the USMS Guide to Operations (formerly called the LMSC Handbook).

As Rob mentioned, the Guide to Operations can be found on the USMS web site, here: http://www.usms.org/admin/lmschb/

I just added the LMSC Minimum Standards document that was adopted at the 2009 Convention. It can be found here: http://www.usms.org/admin/lmschb/lmsc_hb_min_standards.pdf

I will look into defining a recommended "minimum skill set" required for some of our LMSC officer positions. (For example, the registrar needs to have a computer, Internet access, and the ability to use spreadsheets.)

FYI,

We now have volunteer role definitions posted for reference by anyone currently serving or wishing to serve as an LMSC Volunteer.

There is a link from Guide to Operations page - http://www.usms.org/admin/lmschb/content/jobdesc.

These templates are maintained by the LMSC Development Committee, so any feedback related to them would be addressed by that committee.
