Trying to figure out a good time to catch a flight out Sunday evening.

I would recommend waiting until Monday morning, if at all possible. For one reason, it takes all the pressure off if you have entered a late event on Sunday. Some folks who cut their flight times close, and get caught, lash out at the older and slower swimmers who "take forever" and really "shouldn't" be here. I'm NOT suggesting you are one of those people. I am examining the reason why some people might react this way, and recommending you save yourself the anxiety which anyone would feel, regardless of how they express it. For another reason, I am a big advocate of being focused in the present at a big meet. Give yourself the lattitude to visit with old friends (or new) from other parts of the country. Have Sunday dinner with your teammates, enjoy the area, reflect on what you have accomplished. We spend so much of our time preparing to swim at a big meet like LCN's; give yourself a half a day to "cool down" mentally before you go charging off to the daily grind.

If you absolutely, positively have to be home Sunday, go for the mid-evening. See reason number 1 above.

Matt, thanks. I appreciate the advice. I was looking at catching a flight at around 8 or 9 in the evening, just to try and give myself some time. Unfortunately, yes, gotta be back to work the next day. Running out of leave time! Agian, thanks. C YA there!
