Masters, Age Group,Triathletes, and Friends who value swimming,

The Dover (NH) pools are on the chopping block. SSA has been the home of one of the premier swim teams on the Eastern Seaboard for many years under the leadership of Mike and Amy Parratto. Jenny Thompson may be the most famous athlete who grew up and achieved great success from that program and in those pools, but many, many more swimmers swam fast and proudly called SSA their swim team; their home away from home. Many swimmers went on to be excellent swimmers for college teams all around the country and successful in many areas beyond the pool. Greater Dover (NH) and all of USA Swimming should enjoy the excellence that is the trademark of SSA. Unfortunately the Jenny Thompson pool and the indoor pool are slated to be closed unless a rally and effective measures save the day. Save the day.

* There is a one mile walking rally from the Jenny Thompson pool to City Hall on Wednesday - May 26 at 5:45PM. Hopefully the turnout will be huge. If you can not be there (may of you live far away) perhaps you have ideas or resources or know people with resources to help. You can contact Mike or Amy Parratto at SSA.
The main contact for this is tim@seacoastswimming.com
Help save their pools. Save their slice of heaven. Ideas, contacts who might help, money etc.. all may help save well used pools in Dover (NH).

I do not coach for SSA nor do I have a direct involvement. I just think it stinks to see pools and great programs in jeopardy so I want to reach out to try to help. Thank you.

In sport and friendship,

Coach Allan Kopel

How does the sport of swimming, Jenny's sponsors like SPEEDO and her Stanford University allow the Jenny Thompson Pool to close down?

Ahelee,

I do not know what their position is or if they have been spoken with? I do not know. You raise a great question.
