here is probably an over asked question and quite menial.

what shampoo works best on over chlorinated hair? when i was in high school my hair would just turn green. this is not the case now. now my hair fades, stiffens, tangles and for lack of a better description my hair is "whacked".
i hope this question isn't too girlie.

I like the Malibu chlorine removal shampoo and conditioners. They also make monthly chlorine removal treatments that work pretty well.
Another thing I've done before is to put a 6 oz. can of tomato paste on my hair, wrap it in plastic and leave it on for 20 minutes. When you shampoo it out your hair is amazing.
I also have noticed silacone (sp?) caps tend to keep the water off all my hair except the edges closest to the bottom of the cap.
It can also help if you get your hair wet with tap or shower water before you swim. Once the hair has absorbed the untreated water it is "full" and is not as likely to soak the chlorine water in. (at least that's what at least 10 beauticians have told me.
My least favorite technique (yet I swim with many people who do this) is to put conditioner on your hair before you swim and cap it in. My problem with this is that my cap will not stay on my head. It does seem to work for some people.
Good luck, I hope one of these remedies help you!

My kids have had success with Touch Out Sports. Got it at MI sports (www.swimmisports.com (http://www.swimmisports.com)), but you can get it online at www.touchoutsports.com (http://www.touchoutsports.com)
