San Mateo Masters is seeking a Head Masters Swim Coach
This is a full time salaried position with exceptional benefits included. Compensation commensurate with experience. Lots of potential for additional revenue with lessons, clinics etc.

San Mateo Masters is a 200+ adult swim team located in San Mateo, Ca on the campus of the College of San Mateo. Our team operates out of 2 brand new pools (50 meter Olympic and 25 yard Instructional) and is part of the San Mateo Athletic Club. In June of 2010 the San Mateo Master Marlins joined us at our new location.

Position Summary

San Mateo Masters is looking for a talented individual to continue our excellence at the masters swimming level. We have swimmers whose backgrounds range from Collegiate swimmers to people who just want to stay in shape and become better swimmers.

As Head Masters coach your primary role is to be the team leader who will create a fun and supportive environment. The head coach is responsible for developing a yearly workout and competition plan, manage the assistant coaches schedules to ensure all practices are covered, providing feedback to all swimmers and running at least 6 stroke clinics per year, communication, budgetary and marketing duties.

Most importantly the head coach will need to possess a passion for the sport of swimming and working with swimmers. The coach will be expected to support swimmers at swim meets, open water swims and be experienced running swim meets and open water swims.

Organize team registration in major Pacific Masters events and meets, and attend those events as the coach on deck in support of participating members.
Host 1- 2 swim meets a year at SMAC
Work in conjunction with the SMAC Aquatics staff on issues that concern the club as a whole
Attend regular SMAC staff meetings

Relate well to people, be accountable & well organized
Have prior coaching/instructional experience at the masters or collegiate level or higher
Have experience swimming at the collegiate level or higher
Possess formal swimming coaching qualifications
Possess current CPR, First Aid and Water Safety certifications
