View Full Version : Fastlane Techniques

Anyone out there have some good hints on using teh Fastlane for workouts? Just moved into a new home with a 15'x35' pool, obviously not good for laps. I'm used to swimming a 2500-3000 yd workout 3-4 times a week. I installed a Fastlane and am finding it really hard to adapt to. First, it is hard to keep good body position and stay centered in the current. It creates a counter-current on each side of the main current, so my feet easily get off axis and pulled to the right or left if a slow down or wander at all. I've tried slow speeds and fast speeds, but nothing feels remotely like doing laps. I do get my hear rate up quickly and I'm getting better, but maybe someone out there has some shortcuts?
