Your local masters swim club is probably affiliated with the Pacific Masters.

http://www.pacificmasters.org/general/plctoswim.shtml

Most all teams have a workout schedule and a drop in rate if you don't have membership at a given facility. That said, you can choose to workout on your own as a small percentage do, but you'll need a membership card to sign up for the meets.

To find the pools, clubs, and groups near you, go to our Places to Swim search page:

http://www.usms.org/placswim/

Under the "Search by Address" heading, enter "San Leandro" in the city box and "California" in the state box and hit "Go."

I chose a radius of 25 miles and came up with 46 results. You'll see a map; scroll down and you will see the listings with contact information.

From there it's a matter of contacting the places that look convenient for you. Most Masters clubs will let you visit for a "tryout" workout before you join.
