When I saw the title I thought there was chaos at the MIMS, twice. :D How come this was not listed in the scheduled event at on the right panel of the NYC Swim website?

It's there, under "2011 Record Attempts"

Oh, I see it now. I usually only look at "2011 SCHEDULE". I thought it includes everything.

Dave's swim ended after just under 10 hours, with almost one loop completed. He was slowed by a hamstring injury and was unable to reach the Harlem River before the tide change.

Here's a NY Daily News article on the swim:

Big congrats to our friend chaos on the courageous attempt. Nothing is a given in marathon swimming!

Thanks for the write-up!
Chicago eyes turned eastward during the night.... You have friends in places you've never been. And how nice to have a smiling co-swimmer warm the night air! Sounds like a very successful swim.

:applaud:

(Why not come out and swim with us? We're at least as much fun as CIBBOWS.)

It is indeed sad!! you should come here and swim more often. We never have weird tides or adverse conditions of any kind. 'Tis paradise!
