View Full Version : Youth Instructor

My apologies for posting about youth coaches on a master's forum, but my 9 year old does not have a forum of his own.

I'm taking a shot in the dark for recommendations on a youth instructor in the Seattle area. I say instructor and not coach because my youth is not ready for "competitive" swimming. I know where to go when that day comes. For now, we need someone who can establish the proper mechanics. Preferably one-on-one.

We've gotten all we can from the local lifeguard sessions. I want to find a professional. These programs are prolific in places like Cali and Florida (where it all started for me), but not here in sunny Seattle.

Please let me know if you have a recommendation.

you may be surprised and you will probably be pleased to find that the competitive teams in your area have great instructors who teach great and who will work with a pre-competitive youngster. how about calling the team(s) near you that you have high regard for and ask about having a coach offer skill refinement with a youngster.
