Photos are posted on the USMS Facebook page. Please tag them if you recognize any swimmers. I took the photos and tried to get as many different swimmers as I could.

In looking at the pictures it seems you had picture perfect conditions. I know the race was organized to take some advantage of the tides both out and back. How did that turn out and how were the overall conditions?

Conditions were great. The water temp was probably low 70's and it was clear and sunny the whole way. The race was timed perfectly so that we never really fought any current and got a nice current assist most of the way. There was very minimal chop around the point and pretty smooth the rest of the way. There was a brisk wind for about half the swim, so I did have to cover up on the boat, but it was still very comfortable.

The 4 person open water relay format was a lot of fun to swim. I look forward to doing it again next year.

attempted to find results on-line... I guess the results aren't posted yet, BUT the swim made the Federal Register

The Coast Guard proposes to establish a temporary moving safety zone during the Swim Around Charleston, a swimming race occurring on waters of the Wando River, the Cooper River, Charleston Harbor, and the Ashley River, in Charleston, South Carolina. The Swim Around Charleston is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 23, 2011. The temporary safety zone is necessary for the safety of the swimmers, participant vessels, spectators, and the general public during the event. Persons and vessels would be prohibited from entering, transiting through, anchoring in, or remaining within the safety zone unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Charleston or a designated representative.

Thanks Kathleen and race personnel for making the extra effort to protect us open water swimmers!
