"Every year, the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame (http://www.imshof.org/) (IMSHOF (http://www.imshof.org/)) honors its marathon swimming heroes and champions. The inductees of the IMSHOF Class of 2012 join 220 other members of this esteemed group of aquatic adventurers.

Chris Green (http://openwaterpedia.com/index.php?title=Chris_Green) (Great Britain), Maarten van der Weijden (http://openwaterpedia.com/index.php?title=Maarten_van_der_Weijden) (Netherlands), Larisa Ilchenko (http://openwaterpedia.com/index.php?title=Larisa_Ilchenko) (Russia), David Parcells (http://openwaterpedia.com/index.php?title=David_Parcells) (USA) and Marcos Díaz (http://openwaterpedia.com/index.php?title=Marcos_Diaz) (Dominican Republic) were voted into the (IMSHOF (http://www.imshof.org/)) as Honor Swimmers.

Sri Chinmoy (http://openwaterpedia.com/index.php?title=Sri_Chinmoy) (India) and Ned Denison (http://openwaterpedia.com/index.php?title=Ned_Denison) (Ireland) were inducted as Honor Administrators. The Faros Maratón (http://openwaterpedia.com/index.php?title=Faros_Marathon_Swim) in Croatia and the Irish Long Distance Swimming Association (http://openwaterpedia.com/index.php?title=Irish_Long_Distance_Swimming_Assoc iation) were inducted as Honor Organisations.

Honor swimmers are nominated and selected because they are recognized as world leaders and champions in the sport of marathon swimming. They are the elite and the world’s finest based on their careers as athletes, coaches, administrators, pilots and luminaries. Congrats to all!! After years away from open water ,I ventured back to do Chicago's Big Shoulders swim & enjoyed it. I will start to do more next year & am in awe of those above in their swims!:applaud:
