The Terrapin Masters swim team based in College Park, Md is seeking a full time coahc to lead their team towards completion of a variety of goals.
Terrapin Masters Head Coach Job Description
Position: Head Masters Swim Coach
General Description of Duties:
Provide instruction for a United States Masters Swim Program to the campus and the surrounding community.
Your primary role is to be a team leader who motivates, teaches, and pushes our members to achieve their unique personal goals. The ideal candidate will implement a program that will meet the different needs of all members in the program (competitive swimming, non competitive physical fitness swimming, triathlon/cross training and stroke technique improvement.)
Specific Job Responsibilities:
· Create and develop a training program for our year-round program (6-10 workouts/week) for both competitive and non competitive swimmers.
· Develop a dry land fitness program.
· Keep attendance records and promote swim team participation.
· Follow all CRS rules and regulations.
· Willing and able to support the team members as well as understand the fitness goals of our non competitive groups.
· Manage a coaching schedule while responding regularly and promptly to work.
· Provide swimmer feedback and manage different clinics to include stroke, open water and youth clinics.
· Prevent accidents and eliminate or minimize hazardous situations to ensure safety of participants.
· Travel to meets/ events with Terrapin Masters athletes in a 4hr driving distance or 200 miles.(schedule to be agreed upon quarterly)
Necessary Skills:
· Effective verbal and written communication skills
· Works well with people and has excellent customer service skills.
· Accountable and well organized
· First Aid/Adult CPR/AED certified (Professional Rescuer preferred)
· Has excellent stroke refinement knowledge
· Can effectively coach competitive as well as recreational swimmers
· College degree
· USMS membership or ability to obtain it within 30 days
Preferred Skills:
· Prior experience coaching or swimming at the collegiate level or higher.
· American Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches certification or equivalent.
· Possesses a passion for the sport of swimming and working with swimmers.
· Desire to work in a fun, supportive environment with other aquatic professionals.
· ASCA Level 1 coaching certification

Directly-Coordinator of Aquatic Programs
Starting rate: $20.00/ hr
