Do any LMSC'S have a set of by laws for new clubs to use?
Do Clubs /teams registered in LMSC need to have their own set of by -laws. I received request from one of the newest clubs in my LMSC for a standard form for such. This was my first encounter with the idea that individual clubs needed to formalize their organization. Any info will be gratefully received and passed on to team contact. :( :(

USMS does not require bylaws for our member clubs. However a number of clubs do have bylaws and many are also registered as tax-exempt organizations (501(c)).

I would suggest that you have this new club look at “Building A Successful Masters Swim Club” at www.usms.org/admin/building.pdf

O*H*I*O Masters Swim Club and New England Masters Swim Club both have good club bylaws in their web sites. I also have some club bylaws templates and organizational/operational manuals from USA-Swimming that may be of help.
