I'll be on business travel to LA the week of May 20-24. Days will be spent at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (http://goo.gl/maps/gpW2n), 8700 Beverly Blvd., West Hollywood (sort of between Hollywood & Beverly Hills). My hotel is nearby.

As a hayseed from flyover country, I'm pretty intimidated by Los Angeles traffic, and do not want to drive all over the place. I'm hoping to find a place to swim, reasonably close to the above. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hollywood. Don't care. Beverly Hills. Don't care. Show me the way to the swimming pool!

The most diverse set of locations is probably found here -- http://www.swim.net/scaq.cfm. Click on their Schedule and/or SCAQ pools and you can probably find something that works for you. I've swum with them at a few pools. UCLA Masters is probably closest (http://www.recreation.ucla.edu/insidepage.aspx?uid=5faba9cb-982a-4e57-b00c-8c81a881ac15), but I've never swum there.

Even LA traffic is not that bad at 5am so hopefully you can find something.

I visited West Hollywood Aquatics (http://www.wh2o.org) at West Hollywood Park (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=647+N.+San+Vicente+Boulevard,+90069&hl=en&ll=34.082841,-118.384509&spn=0.022073,0.049567&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=48.50801,82.265625&om=1&hnear=647+N+San+Vicente+Blvd,+West+Hollywood,+Los+ Angeles,+California+90069&t=m&z=15) about this time last year and had a very nice swim.

Thanks for the suggestions! West Hollywood Aquatics is less than a mile from my hotel. UCLA is about 5 miles away. Both look like they have active masters teams &/or other opportunities.

Thanks again!

Santa Monica College and the Culver City pool are also pretty easy to get to from West Hollywood. Just like pwb said, go to the SCAQ web site he linked and click their Pools and Schedule links.

I'm swimming with the West Hollywood Masters this week. It's a pleasant 20 minute walk from my hotel. VERY nice bunch of people, very friendly & welcoming. Decent pool, coach on deck, about 4000 in 1.5 hours, including lots of stroke sets.

The Verdict
+1 to USMS discussion board for being such an excellent resource!
+1 to all who answered for such excellent suggestions!
+1 to ourswimmer for hitting the bullseye!
+1 to West Hollywood Aquatics for being such wonderful hosts!

THANK YOU!
