I have a non-sanctioned meet Sunday. I am 55 y/o.

I swam 2200 yards today, and 1 mile the previous two days and did dry land training (weights and elliptical trainer) 3 times this week. I have been swimming pretty much four days a week since early July and during the academic year, 2-3 times a week.

What should I do tomorrow...just rest? swim 500, 1000? Stretch? Any combination of the above?

I am swimming six events: 25 & 50 free, 25 & 50 breast, 200 free relay, and 100 medley relay. Not a lot of yardage, but I am concerned about the heat (it's outdoors) and staying properly hydrated and race-ready.

Any recommendations, including what to eat the day before and morning of the meet (starts at 9 am)? What about supplements (legal, of course)?
