One of my goals this year is to compete in a triathlon as the swimmer on a relay team. Running is out for me, so this would be the only way I could do it. I currently have several options for teammates; however, I no absolutely NOTHING about the local triathlon circuit and which ones offer relays as an option. If anybody has information to share on the topic, I would really appreciate it!

Thanks!

The Peachtree International Triathlon (May 17th) in Peachtree City is a great event and they have a relay division. You can get more information at www.tri4gold.org

I usually help run the swim leg of this triathlon, but unfortunately it is the same day as the Open Water nationals in Chattanooga.

I believe the PTC Tri club’s August race also allows relays.

There is also a sprint tri in Cohutta Springs,GA in October. Plus, if you don't mind the drive to Chattanooga, there are 3 events that have relay divisions for tris.

Thanks for the information, Rob! I'll look into the date of the August one; hopefully it won't conflict with LC Nationals. Unfortunately, I will have to miss all swimming events on May 17, because Bruce and I committed to a craft show that weekend.

Hey Wookiee, thanks for the info.! I would love to drive to Chattannooga, because I haven't been there yet. That would be a fun weekend, as long as I can get my teammates to go there as well!

Here is the link for USA Triathlon's sanctioned events calendar

For USAT events you'll need either a one-day license or an annual license.
