Palm Beach County Parks andRecreation Department is seeking qualified proposals for a US Masters and/orUSA Swimming Program at Aqua Crest Pool, a 50 meter facility located in DelrayBeach, Florida.

Aqua Crest Pool opened December1979 and is a 50 meter X 25 yard X 25 meter pool with a separate divewell. The pool water is heated withnatural gas and chilled with an aeration system. It is open to the public year round. The Facility is equipped with a DaktronicsOmni Sport Console and 8 line scoreboard, as well as a small weight trainingroom.

The Facility has had acompetitive USA Swimming program since the mid 1980’s. The present coaching contract will expire on September30, 2014. Currently, approximately 40participants are enrolled in the program.

The successful proposer willbe an independent contractor with the County. The payment to the contractor will be based on 80% of the fees collectedfor the program with no benefits offered. Based on the current program, it is estimated that the total paymentsfor the first year will be between $30,000 and $35,000. The County provides theFacility and the coach works directly with the Pool Manager to schedule usage,insure that fees are paid and to resolve issues that may arise. If there is anactive Parent’s Organization, the coach is expected to work closely with themto raise funds, run meets and handle other items that benefit the program. The coach is responsible for running theprogram within the scope of work outlined in the Request for Proposals (RFP).

Background and experiencecoaching masters level swimmers, and/or age group level swimmers
Strong organizational,teaching and communication skills
Ability to act professionallyat all times

Current US Masters and USASwimming Coach Member
CPR/First Aid; SafetyTraining for Swim Coaches; Level I coaching at a minimum.
Up to date background checkand Athlete Protection Training
