Georgia's team of Kara Lynn Joyce, Neka Mabry, Paige Kearns and Andrea Georoff set a new world record with a time of 1:37.27 in the 200-meter freestyle relay, the opening event of tonight's NCAA Women's finals session !!! GOOO DAWGS!!

That was a great swim.
Interesting piece of swimming trivia I read on swiminfo.com: this was officially a "world best" time, not a world record because FINA doesn't recognize 200 meter relays in the records.

Anyone else notice that Natalie Coughlin did not exactly swim "lights out" last night in the 400 medley relay. Her butterfly split was the third fastest and far off her best.
Not tapered? Not focused since Cal was far behind? Still she is racing against her competition in the trials. Suppose today will tell the story.
