hi.. im 35 and i wanted to compete in 50m butterfly event in upcoming national tournament.
my timing is 36sec ..
how could i will be able to finish on a time of 30sec

It will be difficult for others to respond without knowing what your stroke looks like. Can somebody shoot video of you, or could you set up a camera yourself to video your butterfly? If so, post it on YouTube, and then provide the link here. Others will respond once they see what your stroke technique looks like.

6 seconds is a lot to expect to drop in a 50!

I dropped ~1.5 seconds in the 50 yard fly in about 2 months by following the guidance offered in episodes 6 through 12 of this videocast: http://swimcents.com/video-podcast/
