Is there a souvenir from nationals that you would like to have?
Something in addition to the t-shirts, towels and the usual?

I'd be partial to a good-sized Nats coffee mug (or travel mug)

How about a snowman of a surfer on a board, riding a wave in the snow? Now that would be different.

Sell towels as good a quality as what SPMA and Mission Viejo had for LCM Regionals, instead of High Point just put 2005 LCM Masters Nationals. I get so tired of buying low quality stuff just because they say US Masters on it.

Surfer shirts with the meet logo, again quality.

Now if you can get Gary Hall and some of the other Old timers from this Olympics to swim Long Course Nationals next year!

Have some of the past ( and present) Mission Viejo greats to show up and swim?

How about a pin?

I remember trading pins with other teams when I was I kid, and we buy a bunch of stuff at the Frozen four like:

Other ideas:
key chain with logo
baseball hat with logo
(silly) little beanie bears
bandanas
mugs with logo
Drinking glasses with logo
Sunglasses with logo

I understand that this is just a bunch of stuff, but it's ideas none the less...

I still like the pin idea the best.

Thanks for the ideas :)

We'll definately have the towels, nice ones too!

How about some of thees - all with the evemt logo on them:

Fleece sweater
Stickers, window decals, Temporaty tatoos, magnets
Ballcaps (the low profile ones)
Sun Visors
Keychain - maybe in a shape of a surfboard... one of thiose that serve as a bottle opener too, with the event logo
Patch with the event logo embroidered (like a participation patch people can sew on their parkas)
Swim caps
Mens and womens T-shirts and Polo Shirts
Tank tops
Shorts, boxer shorts
Shammy with the event logo
Photo frame
Water bottles
A coffee mug or a regular mug/glass
Stadium seat
On site embroidery with a licensed event logo, so you can put in on something you already have... or add your name to the event shirt or sweater or towel

Kids sizes t-shirts
Hawaiian shirts with the event logo/theme

Maybe see if some of our more famous swimmers could autograph a few pieces? Perhaps Brian Goodell can sell a few autographed copies of his book?

Personally I think a short meet and greet wih couple of our supersatrs might be very cool... What do you think?
I'll have to see if we can pull off something like that.

Wow - sounds like a Christmas of a meet with all these proposed "presents"! All great ideas. We did commemorative deck passes for our most recent zone meet ... laminated cards that had the meet logo graphics on them ... which went over pretty good. They weren't expensive to do either.

Lots of folks like medals - however, the plaque award if done well where you stick metal award bars on it for your events, is a nice commemortive item.

Also, speaking of Gary Hall, how about robes? He has been famous lately for his entering the pool deck in boxing robes, "ready for the sprint action".

Better put a warning on those coffee mugs that the contents are very hot and can cause burns. If you're expecting international swimmers you may need to do it in more than one language, just to limit your liability.

Bob, I think they're hoping you'll buy these souvenirs.

I think you may have missunderstood, these are going to be souvenirs available for purchase in the gift shop.
So, when you are thinking wow, this is neat, think wow, this is neat, I'd spend 5, 10, 15, 20 or so bucks on it... not in wow, I'm getting all this for free.

We do have a plan for nice goodie bags too, but the contents of those will depend on the generosity of our sponsors. Traditionally at our one meets the goodie bags had sports bars, sunscreen, lip balms, etc. in them along with some flyers and advertisements. We're hoping we'll have a chance to step it up a little bit for the nationals. We'll see.

We just had or zone meet too, and did credentials for the staff/officials and VIP's. I'm not sure what exactly we'll do for the nationals... I'm hoping to have credentials for everyone... There's still time to plan it all.

I've been looking for a T-shirt I saw at one of my kid's meets.

It has the "Priceless" theme ending with:

"Explaining to my friends why my son shaves his legs: Priceless"

I would love to buy that T-shirt with "explaining to my friends why my husband shaves his legs..." for my wife.

It would be a cool shirt with the meet logo in front.

Whats a rash guard?

A rash guard is a thin swimming top, usually UV rated, that protects from sunburn and is designed to be worn by surfers and body boarder's and prevents those indiviudals from getting rashes on their chests/nipples/bellies. Also worn under wetsuits to prevent chafing. Producers include Speedo, O'Neil, BodyGlove, Roxy (for women), and many others.

Yeah, they sold them at the 2003 LCM Nats, I bought two. They had the 03 LC Nats patch on the chest. I think they sold well. Just an idea.

Connie,

I advise sticking with non-glass souveniers, being near a pool and all, don't wanna cut our precious bodies on broken glass. At least that was my suggestion for Stanford.

Good point!
We're most likely have souvenirs available for purchase on-line as well. Perhaps glass souvenirs, if any, could be available there so they're not near the pool.
Thanks for bringing that up.

What about tshirt or tank top "the older I get the faster I was"
or "so many pools so little time"
