This sort of relates to convention. I just read a press release announcing a Disney Tour with Michael Phelps, Ian Crocker and Lenny Krayzelburg. They will start at Disney World, then travel to various cities in the US, and then end at Disney Land. Here is a link to the press release:

Unfortunately that means none of them will be in attendance at the USAS convention in Orlando. I understand how Olympic Swimmers' marketability is immediately after the Olympics and how doing a paid appearance in lieu of a "freebie" at convention is understandable under those circumstances - it's just a shame that it is a promotion for Disney yet our convention is at Disney World! That is, it's too bad the timing wasn't worked out ahead of time for them to be in Orlando for the banquet on Sept 18th yet still honor their Disney obligation.

Doggone! I was hoping we could get a few of those guys to join our workouts each morning. Just think how much they might pick up from some of our coaches. Jerry

I know Phelps is scheduled to be at the SCM World Championships meet in Indianapolis. I wonder if this tour means he is changing his schedule and not going to be in Indy?

I’m hoping to get tickets to this Sunday’s event in Atlanta. I’ll ask Phelps how he is training for Worlds in Indy and what he plans to swim there.

If the convention is the 19th of sept in Orlando u will have to take into consideration Hurricane Frances that is going to hit the east coast of Florida. Who knows where she will hit and what cities she will destroy. Miami and up the coast thru Orlando is in her sights at this time. Hopefully she makes a turn east toward the ocean and does not hit the east coast but as of this time that is just wishful thinking. I have a daughter in Miami and am praying things don't get to ugly.

He is still planning on going to Indy. The Disney tour ends in California prior to Worlds and then he will go to Indy for the meet.

FYI the stop in Baltimore is actually at the University of Maryland in College Park. It'll be Sept 10th in the evening with tickets being $25 each (sold at the door).

Rob - if you go on Sunday please give us your review afterwards.
