I am the chair of my LMSC and see real value in having an LMSC forum. What are a moderator's duties and how might a moderator be designated?

As a forum moderator, you are watching out for 'bad things' happening on your forums. This just means that you read all posts in your forums (I recommend email subscription), and if someone posts unsolicited ads, personal attacks, or other offensive material in the forum, you have the ability to delete the offending posts. Save a copy first and send to me along with the user's name - we have ways of dealing with these people.... If an LMSC forum is very active, the moderator can also move threads or posts, split threads, and clean things up by deleting old threads if necessary. They can also edit posts in forums they moderate.

I won't be normally reading all the LMSC forums, so am actively looking for suckers ....errrr volunteers to do this for your LMSC. Just send me a PM or email with your choice of moderator(s) and they'll be set up.
