Congratulations to Tom Maine on setting a new world record for the 200 LCM butterfly (80-84 men) at the Ed and Ruth Shea Challenge Classic in Carbondale, Illinois.

His time of 3:58.87 eclipsed the previous world and national record of 4:11.09 set in 1998 by Anton Cerer.

Tom also set a national record in the 400 LCM individual medley with a time of 8:00.26. The previous national record was 8:05.14 set by Ray Taft in 1999. Ray Taft's record is also the published world record, but it has been broken earlier this year in Germany and is currently 7:57.61.

Tom will go after the new world record in the 400 IM at the Lakeside meet in Louisville, KY in August.
