University of Texas Holding Clinic to Benefit Hurricane Victims -- September 29, 2005

AUSTIN, Texas, September 29.

THE University of Texas men’s swimming team will hold a clinic and autograph session on Saturday, October 1 to benefit victims of the recent hurricanes that struck the Gulf Coast region. The “Swim Like an Olympian Clinic” will be held from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Jamail Swim Center, one of the finest facilities in the nation.

Individuals interested in attending are suggested to donate a minimum of $20 to the American Red Cross. That donation will be collected at the door. The stroke clinic is open to swimmers eight and above. A number of major names in the sport are expected to be on hand, including the likes of Olympic medalists Ian Crocker, Nate Dusing and Neil Walker. Garrett Weber-Gale and Matt McGinnis, World Championship Team members, will also be in attendance.

That screeching sound you hear is the internet grinding to a halt as every woman on this board bombards Priceline.com for last minute airline tickets to any airport within striking distance of UT.

Haha boys.

I also heard, by some very reliable sources, that Aaron Peirsol and Brendan Hansen were gracing this event, although I thought that Brendan had a different clinic in PA that same day, so I don't know how he plans to pull that off.

And that sound you hear is the one of my heart slamming into my feet because I have to work, and even priceline.com isn't in my flying budget. :(
