I probably have left out some of people's favorites. If so, please check other and indicate in your reply. And excuse my spellings where incorrect. :) Thanks.

Swiminton:

A couple of additions to your list:

Carolyn Bruce
Megan Jendrick - used to be Quann
Stancia Winfield - used to be Stitts
Kristi Kowal
Kristen Caverly
Rebbeca Soni

All of these people have made the USA National teams in breastroke events since 2003. This probably what is in other.

Katie Ball. world record holder in the late 60's. She got sick at Mexico City or she would have had 3 Golds.

Ball's one of the greatest, I think she went under 2:40 which back in the old days was very fast.

Well Amanda Beard is my favorite not only a breaststroker but I think the only breaststroker to medal in the IM in the Olympics and breastroke in a non-relay. The other Tracey Caulkins, who medaled in both IM's and the breaststroke in the relay. I like Leisel Jones as well.

Tracy Caulkins gets my vote.
For the pre-lycra era, Catie Ball. Or Claudia Kolb, but probably Catie Ball - many national titles.

Tracy Caulkins gets my vote as time best womens breaststroker.

don't forget Tracy McFarland, she swam in the Olympics and as a Masters. She also did a swim video with John Moffet.

Since the question is re who is your favorite breastroker, not the best, I'll have to seize the opportunity to pickup some serious brownie points and say...my wife!

I'll vote for your wife as well. :D

And only for lack of any real enthusiasm for breaststroke. But Penny Heyns works too...

Doug:

Maybe Nadine can be our favorite swimmer. There is a nice picture of Nadine in the current issue of Swimming World on page 11. She saws "I love the sport of swimming. It has been a part of my life since I was a child, and I want to keep swimming. I want everyone to learn how to swim."

By the way Doug, nice 200 Fly last weekend at the GLZ meet. Most people don't even want to think about doing that but seeing some one like yourself provides inspiration.
