I've never participated in a Postal Swim before. One of our swimmers is interested in participating. After reading the rules of the one sponsored by the club in Ohio, our main question is:

Who qualifies as a starter or referee?

If a certified official is required, then my next questions are:

Are there any clubs in the Chicago area already planning a Postal Swim including an official?
And if so, can one or two of our swimmers join in?

Help!

Mary,
Your entire team can do it. Plan it as a workout.

Each swimmer needs a counter and a timer, who keeps track of your laps.

Good Luck and have fun.

Postals are a lot of fun. I do them because galesburg is so far away from Chicago that to get to a meet at 9 in the morning woudl mean staying in Chicago the night before. I pay a lifeguard at my pool to do my timing(is that okay to pay a timer?). He is a college student and can use the money.

I think it woudl be great if more peopleinIllinios did them. Look at the team results for the one sponsored by clemson, Illinois did okay. It would be great if we won one!!!!!!
