Does anyone know who will be the announcer this year at the Nationals? I noticed last year that sometimes the announcer would add some information about the swimmers. How does the announcer get information on the swimmers swimming? Did anyone send in this information ahead of time?

How does all this work?

Xenadiva:

Mark Gill was the announcer last year and he might be this year. He is a frequent visitor and a moderator for these USMS forums. He will have to tell us how he gets the information on swimmers and how he has a unique way of presenting this to the people at the meet. Mark is one of the Vice Presidents of USMS and a member of the Executive Committee.

Mark Gill also is a sprint specialist. Get him in any races over a hundred, and you can wipe the floor with him. ;)

Well last year Mark had a strong tendency to just make up the information about the swimmers, especially in my case. It could be more entertaining this year since there is rumored to be a bar at the Coral Springs complex right next to the pool area.

That's why they switched it to Coral Springs, I knew there was a deciding factor out there.
