I will be in Lakewood, Colorado for work and wondering if anyone can suggest a place to swim.

Also, anyone know of any meets that may be happening on Oct 14/15 in the Denver area? I went to Breadbasket events, but it is coming up blank.

Thanks in advance,
greg

greg,

Go to comsa.org for meet info. There is a meet this Sunday and on 10/22, but not 10/14 or 15. The City of Lakewood has two nice pools with lap swim times and masters workouts. Check out the Green Mountain Center or the Carmody Center. Also, Golden is nearby and has a center with lots of lap swimming.

You could always run the benches at Red Rocks which is really close by!

Rich,
Thanks, I will look into the places in Lakewood. As for the Red Rocks, I was in Lakewood for 3 weeks in July and I hiked those rocks, very cool place. I saw people running the steps in 104 degree weather!

Greg,
You also have the option of working out at DU, which has the nicest facility in the state (indoor 50m). Saturday workouts are typcially speed work/test sets short course, and Sunday is a pretty impressive long course distance day (last wek I think it was 7000m).

Check it out at:http://www.recreation.du.edu/aquatics/?sec=co&main=4&main2=80&main3=0

Ps; If you saw any of the folks at Red Rocks tha day doing one legged hops up the bleachers that would be Rich!

Greg,

Since you are from Ohio, you may come and swim with us here in Denver. Being an Akronite myself I realize the difficulties of fitting in and being accepted by these mountain folk. Few here understand the great traditions of midwest.

A chance to workout with both the good and evil smiths. I may come back to Ohio corrupted. I might have to venture out to both places. Luckily I only have to work half days while I am out there and will have plenty of time on my hands. I did however, get a ticket for the Broncos Monday night game :-)

Thanks for the info on places to swim. Hopefully i will see you on the pool deck.
