Peter Cruise had a quite brilliant idea with his "What is your ideal weight?" thread. But what about height? Who's happy with their height?

I'm 5' 11." No solid coment yet. Probably OK for running, but not for swimming. Then, there is always my wife's preference that I should be taller. Not taking PMs on this or anything else!!

Please provide actual height and ideal height. No weight confessions are required.

Im 6' tall. The taller the better I guess but I wouldn't want to be 7 feet tall. 6' 2 would be a good height. But height is not every thing when it comes to swimming, arm span is very important too. I have a 6' 2 arm span.

Current 5'8"
Ideal 5'10" - swimming and in life
Other than heels, which I can't swim in, I don't know of any way to get there.

How do you determine wingspan? Is there a chart online or something?
I always did love The Albatross.

I'm 5' 8" and only wish I was taller at music concerts...because I always get some tall "bopping" guy in front of me.
As for sports...It makes no difference to me. I'd do the events that work for me.

Your wingspang is always very close to your height, as in the example given. If you need to approximate your height you can outstretch your arms and measure.

I don't see how there is any benefit in idealizing (is that a word?) beyond my control, so for me....from the soles of my feet to the crown of my head are my ideal height.

Aw, that is so optimistic. You must be swimming with that Kaizen guy. ;)

I myself would like to grow at least 6 inches and be 5'10." And I'd still be shorter than my secret nemesis... Even though swimmers are supposed to have long torsos, I already got that. So I would like all that added height in the legs please. Wingspan pretty good, that's probably what's compensating for my height shortcoming. I love high heels (and lip gloss) too Kristina. Tennis shoes are only for going to the gym or running!

I should be thankful that I'm 5-8... my Grandma is 4-10... my Dad was lucky if he was 5-9... my uncle is shorter than me - and so is his son.... I'm the tallest of the "granddaughters".

Anyways, I'd love to be 5-11 - for swimming purposes and because my hubby is 6-3. I hate looking so short standing next to him. Maybe I should wear heels... good advice.

I'm 5'2", I actually am okay with my height, because if I was taller I'd have to buy all new pants and that would be expensive ... I do have long arms my wing span is around 5'6" ... hence being a flyer ,,,

I wouldn't mind being closer to average height or say 5'7", which would still be short for swimming ...

Oh, and fortress, I love gym shoes ... I also love heals but after the gym and marathoning I end up with back pain for two days ...

When I was playing basketball I wanted to be at least 6-8. It was tough playing center at 6-2. Now I'm not even that tall (6-0 last time measured). Do we shrink as we age?

I'm 5' 9". Good for swimming, but I kinda stand out in other things....especially heels.

Though it is kinda fun when you're in flip-flops and your friend is in 4 inch heels and you're still taller.... :D

Kyra, have you started wearing heals? I thought you were against them? Did we finally convert you?

I don't wear them very often cuz I don't have a good reason too. But occasionally. :wiggle:
