I am going to be camping at Muskegon State Park in mid August. Is lake Michigan safe and fun to do some open water workouts there?:drown:

The Department of Environmental Quality has a website and lists most beaches. Before you venture out for a swim, check their site (http://www.deq.state.mi.us/beach/public/site.aspx?SiteID=1110)
first.

It appears that the water is and has usually always been clean, are there rip tides around there? Do you know of any popular training sites?

Rip currents can form anywhere given the right conditions. If you are concerned about this, you may want to learn how to survive if caught in the underwater river.

As for popular training sites in Muskegon, you may want to contact the individual listed below for more information, or other localities.
