The USMS Fitness Committee produces many different types of articles about swimming, with topics ranging from swimming technique to nutrition. This year, we have established a new feature called Fitness Article of the Month, and we feature a new article each month in the Fitness section of the USMS Web Site. At the end of each month, each article becomes part of the permanent archive.

This month's article is entitled "Spudly to Studly" and is by Bill Volckening, proud loser of 70 pounds. It is meant to accompany his weight loss article featured in Swim this month so read them both. Here he talks about his old routine, the changes he made, and his new eating routine. This is a "Can Do" system, inspired by a Cable TV show, called Cooking Thin. Even if you don't need to lose weight, the article is an inspriation for good health eating. Check it out.
