The Clemson Aquatic Team (CAT) a not-for-profit club of USA Swimming is accepting applications for a head coach position. CAT is a community partner of Clemson University Swimming and Diving (CUSD), an NCAA Division I program in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

This head coach will work with CATís age-group and Masters athletes and coaches and will also perform assistant coach duties with the Clemson University Swim Team. As head coach for CAT, responsibilities include coaching at all levels, supervising an assistant coach, team administration, representation on the CAT Board of Directors, and representation at the South Carolina LSC meetings. The head coach will work directly with the top age group swimmers and Masters and will be responsible for the planning, coordination, communication, organization and implementation of the entire program. The CAT coach will also work under the direction of the Clemson University Swimming and Diving Head Coach, assisting in all facets of a Division I program, to include recruiting, administrative duties, compliance, on-deck coaching, and other duties as assigned.

Candidates must possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with athletes, parents, board members, coaching staffs and the LSC. Candidates must also have enthusiasm and skill to develop swimmers to an advanced level. Candidates should be familiar with Hy-Tek Team and Meet Manager software.

Drawing swimmers from a three-county area, the Clemson Aquatic Team offers a guided age-group youth program for children age 5 and up, from the beginning swimmer to the most competitive and skilled swimmer, as well as a Masters program that receives active teaching and coaching. CAT hosts two sanctioned short course meets and one sanctioned open water meet per year.

CAT practices and hosts indoor meets in the McHugh Natatorium at Clemson University and hosts the annual Death Valley Open Water Meet at Clemson University facilities on Hartwell Lake. The Clemson Aquatic Team has an excellent reputation in the SC LSC and across the region for our swimming and for our meets.

Clemson is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, four hours from the SC coast and two hours from Atlanta, GA, and Charlotte, NC. Its largest employer is Clemson University, home of the Clemson Tigers.

The position is available immediately. Starting salary is negotiable within the range of $30,000-$34,000. Travel reimbursement and per diem are provided for all away meets and LSC meetings.
