SWIM COACH
Effective Date: 11/01/2007
Compensation: Hourly and commensurate with experience

SUMMARY
DCAC (www.swimdcac.org (http://www.swimdcac.org/)) is Washington’s high energy Masters swimming team and social club for gays, lesbians and friends of the gay and lesbian community. Swimmers of all levels – fast, slow, and everywhere in between – are welcome. Our team has approximately 150 members and practices usually range from 25-45 attendees each. Our members include FINA Masters World Record holders, more than 60 individual and relay All-Americans, over 200 USMS individual and relay Top Ten swimmers, as well as first-time competitors. DCAC is a member of both United States Masters Swimming (USMS) and International Gay and Lesbian Aquatics (IGLA).

The team seeks a dynamic, well-experienced coach to assist in supervising, managing and facilitating weekly practices, as well as occasional meets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In coordination with other team coaches, helps to conduct swim team practices (5 – 6 times per week) in a safe, friendly, and competitive environment.
Provides on-deck instruction at team-focus swimming meets.
Promotes swim team participation.
Prevents accidents and eliminates or minimizes hazardous situations.
Performs related duties as required.
Responds regularly and promptly to work.

EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 3 years experience coaching competitive swim team – Head Coaching preferred

Preferred:
Previous experience in some phase of competitive swimming.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Excellent swimming skills
First aid and CPR certified

OTHER
Automobile – Some travel will be required
Open mindedness, patience, and a sense of humor
