So for anyone that missed my last pathetic fat finger attempt to spell 'grudge' here we go again.

Since we have quite a few folks swimming in the month of December, I thought we should get a thread going. So let's post all those gridges here so they are all out in the open and no one (i.e Rich) can try to back out of them.

WTF?
Who backed out of them? I almost drowned in the 100 FR trying to beat 1:05 and you sandbagged it! lol

Hmm, I seem to remember something like that, yes. :thhbbb:

Then again, I'm not sure even Phelps would try to no-breath the first 25 of a 100, so how is that my fault??

Fort: I'm calling you out. my 50 Fly versus your 50 Free. Even tho I think you sandbagged that SLOW 30.0 seed time. It should be more like 29 but then again, who am I to be calling someone a 'bagger?

SS: I'll put my 100 IM up against your 100 Free.

Anyone else?

Is that an event or just a give away?

I don't even like to drive that far.

Sprinter, sprint-er, sprin-ter, get it?

Especially with that seed time. Puh-leeze.

SS: no 100 Free or is that event being held on Sat? OK, I'll put my 50 Fly against your 50 Free also. Guess, you'll have something to shoot for :thhbbb:

What's your FLY time?

What's your FLY time?

Seeded at 30.40 (converted from my 27.67 SCY time and then subtracted .5) but that might be a bit optimistic given some recent shoulder issues. Just have to see how it goes.

There is a great opportunity for a 1000/1650 grudge match in Laurel, MD on Sunday, December 16! Join us for the AutiSwim to benefit the Autism Society of America.

Here is a link to the entry form:

Don't fear the distance - embrace the distance, become the distance - you can do it!!!!

You're on! The 50 free is the last event of the meet, so I'll be dragging my sorry fastskin by then.

Don't worry. You don't need shoulders to swim a 50 fly. I swam it last Dec. when my shoulder was a freakin wreck. I frankly hope I can match that time. All depends on how you hit the walls.

yeah, well, 50 Fly is the last event of the day on Saturday so not sure what shape I will be in. I think this will be close. but you will have a slight advantage as you will have a target to shoot for.

Now, about the Albatross meet :wine:

I just took a gander at the order of events for that meet. Argh. I hate it. :bitching: I may boycott in protest, except the lure of an afternoon meet is strong ... Who puts 3 of the 4 50s in the last 5 events of the meet?! Ha, ha, looks like we'll have to swim the 100 fly!

Boycott the 50s and swim the 400 free... you and Julie can go head-to-head. Hell, maybe we can throw the blue muppet under the bus and toss her in that event for sheets and goggles.

I'm calling you out, BP. 50 Fly. Looks like we should be in adjacent lanes, depending on who else has a late entry and thier seed time. I seeded at 30.4 so it appears I'll be in the outside lane right next to you.

I think you all should sign up for the 1650 meet on December 16th and then we could have a real December GRIDGE! It should be my last distance event for a while so I'm swimming it now so 2008 can be all about the 100s and 200s.

I like the order of events at Albatross, especially the 400 being LAST! So I can focus on the 100 and 200 back.

At Rutgers it's the first event on Sunday before 100 and 200 back. UGH! At least I'll be rested so I can beat Jeff's 400 IM time.

Sure, I'll treat that as my T-30 swim. I _might_ finish before 30 minutes but hey.

400 free?!?! Get real. I'm only about to swim my second 100. I am not a freestyler! Don't even do that distance in practice. It doesn't sound fun at all ... rather do the 400 IM, although that's not happening either. Mollie, however, would do just fine even though she prefers the 200.

Alison: You know, I think it's the same order of events as last year. I recall I didn't swim anything until the 100 back ... They should switch up the order every year. I know, the esteemed meet director must be swimming all the 100s. ;)

They do - they substitute the 400IM for the 400 free in odd years... :cane:

Oh boy - they change 2 events. With all the 200's together and the 50's lumped together., I don't think I'll attend the meet. I can get better order of events at other meets.
