About BAC:

Located in Burlingame, the Burlingame Aquatic Club (http://www.burlingameaquatics.com (http://www.carlmont.seq.org/)) was established in 2000 and operates out of a 50m Olympic size pool, one of the premier swimming facilities in the Bay Area. The Club operates high quality Age Group Swimming, Age Group Water Polo, Masters Swimming and Masters Water Polo programs with over 600 members for the benefit of the local and regional communities. The coaching staff consists of former collegiate and national team swimmers and water polo players who bring to the pool comprehensive knowledge of what it takes to simultaneously enjoy and succeed in both sports. We strive to assist all of our members, both youth and adult, in reaching their own highest potential.

Position Summary:

BAC is looking for a talented individual to continue our history of excellence at the masters swimming level. We have approximately 130 members whose backgrounds range from former Olympians to people who just want to stay in shape and become better swimmers.

As Head Masters Swimming Coach your primary role is to be a team leader who motivates, teaches, and pushes our members to achieve their unique personal goals. The ideal candidate will be a creative coach who implements a program that can meet the diverse needs of our membership base, namely competitive swimming, non-competitive/physical fitness, improvement of stroke techniques, social interaction, triathlon training, etc.

This individual will have full profit and loss responsibilities for the program and will oversee: program scheduling, managing of the assistant coach, program communications to members, program marketing, and administrative duties related to program finances, registration, and member attendance. As a staff we are aquatic professionals who are highly energetic and competent; we are seeking a like minded individual.

Requirements:


Operate a year round training program for the team, to include approximately 15 practices a week
Practice times include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends
Cater program(s) to different member segments
Attend regular BAC staff meetings
Attend Pacific Masters and United States Masters meetings as appropriate
Organize team registration in major Pacific Masters events and meets, and attend those events as the coach-on-deck in support of participating members
Host 1-2 half day meets a year at BAC
Work in conjunction with BAC staff on issues that concern the club as a whole
Direct the managing and development of the Assistant CoachQualifications:

The exceptional candidate for this position will:

Possess a passion for the sport of swimming
Have demonstrated leadership in managing, motivating and growing a team/program
Have prior coaching/instructional experience at the collegiate level or higher
Have experience swimming at the collegiate level or higher
Possess formal swimming coaching qualifications
Relate well to people, be accountable, and well organized
Have a college degree
Be familiar with Microsoft Office
Possess current CPR, First Aid and Water Safety certifications
Desire to work in a fun, supportive environment with other aquatic professionalsThe Head Masters Swimming Coach is expected to run the majority of all weekly workouts which include mornings and early afternoons, and to schedule regular coverage for all workouts he/she will not attend.

Compensation:

This is a part-time salaried position and compensation is commensurate with experience.
